FRITZ!Repeater 1200 AX: Wi-Fi 6 mesh repeater with Gigabit LAN for extra range

If the Wi-Fi in your bedroom, study or on the balcony has slowed to a trickle, a repeater is often the simplest fix. The FRITZ!Repeater 1200 AX plugs straight into a wall socket and uses Wi-Fi 6 on both bands: up to 2400 Mbit/s on 5 GHz and up to 600 Mbit/s on 2.4 GHz.

With a FRITZ!Box, the repeater becomes part of the mesh network. The box then manages all access points together, and your devices stay connected to a single, unified Wi-Fi network. You connect it using the WPS button, after which the repeater adopts the Wi-Fi settings. It also works with other routers that support common Wi-Fi standards, though.

The Gigabit LAN port is handy: you can connect a TV or games console by cable, or run the repeater as a LAN bridge if there's already a network cable in the room. A status indicator helps you find a good spot. You manage it via a browser or app, and AVM delivers updates regularly.

Worth knowing: place the repeater where the FRITZ!Box signal is still reasonably strong, so roughly halfway rather than right in the dead zone. You only get the full mesh convenience with a FRITZ!Box. And bear in mind that the repeater takes up a wall socket.
