Canon PIXMA TS7550i: compact Wi-Fi all-in-one with duplex and a 35-sheet feeder

The Canon PIXMA TS7550i is an inkjet all-in-one for the home office and family use that fits into a footprint of roughly 37 × 36 cm. It prints, scans and copies; there is no fax. For multi-page documents it has a 35-sheet automatic document feeder, and when printing it flips the paper itself for two-sided output.

Canon quotes 14 pages per minute in black and 9 in colour to ISO standards, with the first page out after 7.5 seconds (black) or 9.5 seconds (colour). It uses two FINE cartridges: PG-595 for pigment black and CL-586 for colour, both also available as XL. Photos print borderless from 10 × 15 cm up to A4.

It connects via dual-band Wi-Fi or USB. Setup runs through the small OLED display, which can also show a QR code to pair with your phone. From your phone you print via the Canon app, AirPrint or Mopria. The paper cassette holds 100 sheets. According to Canon, the printer works with the PIXMA Print Plan ink subscription.

Worth knowing: the TS7550i has no Ethernet port, and the feeder scans one side only. At 100 sheets, the cassette suits light to moderate printing. The display is small and monochrome – for photos or menus with lots of options, the app is the better choice. Heavy colour printing empties standard cartridges quickly; the XL versions last longer.
