UGREEN Revodok 105: 5-in-1 USB-C hub with HDMI, three USB-A ports and 100 W pass-through

Many current laptops only have USB-C ports. The UGREEN Revodok 105 turns one of them into five: HDMI for a monitor or TV, a fast 5 Gbps USB-A port for flash drives and external disks, two USB-A 2.0 ports for mouse, keyboard or a headset dongle, and a USB-C socket for your laptop charger.

UGREEN rates the HDMI output at up to 3840 × 2160 pixels at 30 Hz. That is fine for presentations, films and office work, and the manufacturer says the charging socket passes up to 100 W of Power Delivery through to the laptop, leaving your notebook's second USB-C port free.

The housing is aluminium, about 12 cm long, with an attached cable of roughly 20 cm. No drivers are needed; the hub works with Windows, macOS and Linux and can also be used with tablets or phones with USB-C, as long as they support the relevant features.

Worth knowing: for HDMI video, your device's USB-C port has to support DisplayPort Alt Mode – charge-only or data-only ports give no picture. 4K runs at 30 Hz only, which can feel sluggish when moving the mouse; 1080p at 60 Hz is often more comfortable for everyday work. The hub draws a little power itself, so the laptop receives slightly less than the charger's rating. There is no card reader and no Ethernet port.
