The Twinpack contains two Einhell batteries from the Power X-Change system, each rated at 18 V and 4.0 Ah. They fit every tool on the platform, from drill drivers and jigsaws to grass trimmers. With two batteries you can use one while the other charges, or run tools that take two batteries at once and work at 36 V, such as some Einhell lawn mowers and chainsaws.

Each battery has a three-level LED indicator so you can check the charge with the push of a button before you start. According to Einhell, a battery management system constantly monitors temperature, voltage and cell condition. Lithium-ion has no memory effect, so topping up half-full batteries is fine.

The housing is rubberised, and a grip recess makes it easier to pull the battery out of a tool. Together the two batteries weigh 1.32 kg according to the manufacturer. Einhell quotes a power output of 900 W for the 4.0 Ah cells.

Worth knowing: no charger is included, so you'll need an existing PXC charger. Charging time depends heavily on the charger; with the 3 A charger from the Einhell starter kit the manufacturer quotes around 75 minutes per 4.0 Ah battery, while basic chargers take considerably longer. The batteries only fit tools with a Power X-Change slot, not older Einhell models with a different battery system.
