soundcore P30i: true wireless earbuds with ANC and a case that doubles as a phone stand

The P30i are true wireless earbuds from soundcore, Anker's audio brand. According to the manufacturer, the active noise cancelling adapts to your surroundings and reduces noise by up to 42 dB; there are also manual levels and a Transparency mode for when you want to hear announcements or conversations. Sound comes from 10 mm drivers with soundcore's BassUp tuning, and in the app you can pick from 22 EQ presets or set your own.

The standout detail is the charging case: flipped open, it becomes a stand for your phone in landscape, handy for videos on the train or video calls at your desk. soundcore quotes up to 10 hours per charge for the earbuds and up to 45 hours with the case. Ten minutes of charging gives about two hours of playback, the company says.

They connect via Bluetooth 5.4, and with multipoint to two devices at once, such as your phone and laptop. Four microphones with AI-assisted processing are meant to separate your voice from background noise on calls. The earbuds are rated IP54 against dust and splashes and can also be used individually.

Worth knowing: the 10-hour figure is for a single charge under the manufacturer's test conditions; with noise cancelling on and high volume, expect less. IP54 protects against sweat and splashes, not submersion. soundcore doesn't list high-resolution codecs such as LDAC for this model. The case has no wireless charging.
