AirPods Pro 3 are Apple's in-ear earbuds with Active Noise Cancellation. Alongside ANC there is Transparency mode and Adaptive Audio, which blends the two depending on your surroundings, plus Conversation Awareness, Personalised Spatial Audio with head tracking and Adaptive EQ. They run on Apple's H2 chip, and ear tips now come in five sizes from XXS to L.
New is a heart rate sensor that lets the AirPods track your pulse during workouts. There are also the hearing health features: a Hearing Test, a Hearing Aid feature and Hearing Protection, which Apple says meets the EN 352 standard when enabled. Earbuds and case are rated IP57 against dust, sweat and water.
According to Apple, the earbuds last up to 8 hours with ANC, up to 10 hours in Transparency mode with the Hearing Aid feature, and up to 6.5 hours during workouts with heart rate sensing. With the case you get up to 24 hours. The MagSafe case charges via USB-C, MagSafe, Qi or an Apple Watch charger and has a speaker and an Ultra Wideband chip for finding it with Find My.
Worth knowing: no charging cable is included, so you'll use an existing USB-C cable or a Qi charger. Many features, such as automatic switching, the Hearing Test and heart rate sensing, need current Apple devices; on Android the AirPods work as regular Bluetooth earbuds. The hearing health features are not a substitute for medical advice, and their availability depends on country and software version.
