HP DeskJet 2920 All-in-One: print, scan and copy over Wi-Fi

The HP DeskJet 2920 All-in-One (product number 89F97B) is designed for households that occasionally need to print something, scan a letter or make a copy. HP recommends a volume of around 50 to 100 pages a month, which is typical home use for school work, forms or tickets.

You can connect it via USB or wirelessly over Wi-Fi, with both 2.4 and 5 GHz supported. From your smartphone or tablet, you print via the HP app, Apple AirPrint or Mopria. According to HP, it manages up to 7.5 pages per minute in black and white and 5.5 in colour, and the first black-and-white page lands in the output tray after around 16 seconds. The flatbed scanner has a resolution of up to 1,200 x 1,200 dpi.

It prints with HP 308 cartridges (black and tri-colour). Alternatively, there are the higher-yield HP 308e EvoMore cartridges, and the printer is also compatible with the HP Instant Ink subscription. The paper tray holds up to 60 sheets and the output tray 25 sheets. Supported sizes range from A4 and A6 to envelopes and 10 x 15 cm photos.

Worth knowing: double-sided printing is manual only, borderless photos aren't possible, and there's no fax or automatic document feeder. According to HP, the starter cartridges included only last for around 100 pages in black and white or 60 pages in colour. If you print a lot on a regular basis, factor in the running costs of cartridges beforehand.
