HP 305 twin pack: black and colour cartridge for DeskJet 2700/4100 and ENVY 6000/6400

The HP 305 twin pack contains one black and one tri-colour cartridge – everything you need for a full swap in one of HP's small inkjet printers. The colour cartridge holds cyan, magenta and yellow in a single unit. HP uses pigment ink for black and dye-based ink for the colours.

According to HP, the black cartridge prints around 120 pages and the colour one around 100 pages. These are standard-yield cartridges aimed at households that print letters, forms or school work now and then. If you print more, the XL versions HP offers for the same printers are worth a look.

HP lists the DeskJet 2300, 2700, 2700e, 2730, 4100, 4100e and 4134 as well as the ENVY 6000e, 6010, 6020, 6022, 6030, 6032, 6400e, 6420, 6420e, 6422, 6430 and 6432 as compatible. The cartridges simply slot into the carriage from the front.

Worth knowing: the page yields are based on HP's standard test – photos or large colour areas will empty the cartridges faster. If your printer is on an HP Instant Ink subscription, cartridges come through that plan and you do not need these retail ones. These cartridges do not fit printers that take HP 301, 302 or 303, even if the devices look similar.
